Hello everyone ! I was so excited when Sizzix Lifestyle sent me a wonderful box of newly released dies to work with.
This home card was inspired by the little house Thinlits from My Life Handmade which is a whole series of dies you can use for Planners, cards, layouts and more. The huge variety in the series means you’ll probably find more than a few to fit in with your projects !
Debi Potter designed this Brush Capital Alphabet and I love the informal style to match the house. You can see it’s been die-cut using a Bronze Glitter cardstock with parts of it daubed in acrylic paint for a shabby dimension.
The largest heart from the Bigz Hearts is a basic shape that’s truly useful as background layering. Many crafters I know prefer intricate designs and skip the basic shapes thinking they are too simple or unnecessary. Let me assure you, basic shapes are important, they are not a waste because you need them as foundation bases or as fillers in your makes.
I love using matte boards to die cut shapes using the Bigz dies. Bigz cut through a large assortment of materials and are therefore indispensable for layered projects. The matt board was first treated with Distress Oxide ink, spritzed with water and dried. Tarnished Brass Mica liquid was splattered over that to add little glimmer dots. After drying the surface completely, all you need to do next is to run the matt board through your Big Shot using the Hearts die.
Thank you for dropping by today and I hope I’ve been able to show you the possibilities of creating with these dies. Have a wonderful week ahead, happy crafting !
