Hello everyone !
Paper crafters are so excited over CHA2016 and the new releases ! I love seeing new products featured on Periscope or Instagram and being inspired by the ways to use them.
This year I had the privilege of creating samples for the Tim Holtz CHA2016 Sizzix Booth using a few of his new dies and Idea-ology supplies. It is an opportunity of a lifetime and one I am so grateful for, thank you so much Tim ! This mini clipboard project was created for Made With Love and it’s every bit in my style : part collage, part assemblage, part mixed media.
As always the Sizzix Big Shot and dies are essential tools for customising the look of any project. One of my favourites is Glitter Cardstock for texture with it’s gritty surface. What I like to do is daub some Distress Paint on the Glitter Cardstock to remove some of the sparkle to make it look less new and more shabby.
The Heart is from the Movers and Shapers Magnetic die. I adhered the Crosshatch on it, painted the whole piece with Fired Brick Distress Paint. Using Glossy Accents with a fine tip nozzle. I squeezed it into the crevices and after, poured over it Distress Glitter in Antique Linen. Pour off the excess. Next step, brush Clear Crackle Paint on the Heart.
Here you can see how I layered the pieces. First I fitted the metal numbers (painted with Distress Broken China), a metal mini street sign, and the Heart that was painted with Alcohol Ink Latte. When I was happy with the arrangement, I adhered the Ornate Frame over the top.
Distress Paints : Broken China, Fired Brick, Shaded Lilac, Tarnished Brass, Faded Jeans, Iced
Spruce, Mustard Seed, Black Soot.
New Sizzix releases have been ordered and will be in Made With Love early February. The store is a Sizzix Distributor and if you need help with a demonstration of the Big Shot Die-cutting system or the dies, please drop by.
