Hello everyone ! In tropical Singapore we have no seasons. only rain and sun (lots of it ! ) …… but I am so inspired by all the pretty Spring crafting products I see online that I just HAD to use this theme. This Eileen Hull caddy has a teeny mini book inside and will make a cute gift to hold small photos. You can fill it with candy or chocolates, small craft items or it can be used for party favours ….. so many possibilities !
The Tim Holtz Mini Butterflies make really pretty adornments to the front of any project.
This is the set I made.
Eileen Hull designs wonderful dies that can be used as bases to be built up for altered projects. I hope you will take the time to visit her Bio at Sizzix and look at the dies as well as watch the videos. The link is here : Eileen Hull at Sizzix
These are the Sizzix products I used :
Eileen Hull XL Bigz Bag/Caddy
Tim Holtz Thinlits Detailed Butterflies, Mini
Foam and Brush set
Other supplies :
Paper – Jen Hadfield, The Simple Life | 300gsm heavy White cardstock | Glitter Cardstock
Assorted word and tag stickers
Die cut the heavy cardstock. I used thicker white cardstock for the base of the caddy to make sure the shape stays firm.
The patterned paper was die cut as you see above. It’s important to know as the sides and bottom of this caddy are folded over, you need to compensate for these folds if you are adhering paper. To get around this, trimming the patterned paper into pieces will make it easier to fit them onto the caddy surface.
This is how the caddy looks after assembly.
Adhere the patterned paper to the caddy. I added a strip of contrasting paper in the mid-section.
I love this Mini Butterflies die as it has a detailed die and a matching shadow die. Die cut the Mini Butterfly using Glitter Cardstock and patterned paper for the shadow.
Here I used the Foam and Brush set to pop out the unwanted wing pieces.
You can see the Butterfly and the shadow shape behind.
The Caddy die has 2 small flowers and vine shapes you can use.
I’ve layered the flowers and vines together with stickers.
Next, make a mini-book or fill the caddy with anything you prefer like candy or chocolates.
This was a really fun Spring project to put together and I LOVE how there are so many ways to use the caddy. Happy creatin’ everyone !
