Hello Crafties ! Decorating the home for Christmas, getting the gifts, deciding about the food is a busy time and any help with easy ideas will surely be welcome. I made this Tag to be useful for many things – a handmade tree ornament, for a card, a gift tag, an Angel banner or framed as a decor piece for your home. Pretty things do not have to be difficult to make and do look good.
The Bigz die from Sizzix Lifestyle UK is the Angel #2 and what I love is the basic shape that allows all sorts of different materials to be used leaving you room to decorate the shape. Today I’ve die-cut the Angel in white felt.
Angels bringing the message of Joy to the World are always good !
The sentiment is layered on a Silver Glitter star.
Sparkly Clear Glitter lifts the white felt out of the ordinary and makes it so pretty !
Let’s begin :
Die cut 2 sets of the main Angel shape and the Wings in 1) White Felt and 2) White cardstock.
Felt is soft and to stiffen it up, glue the white cardstock on the under-side.
Lightly ink the edges with a pale blue ink like Distress Broken China.
Next, on the felt, brush a thin layer of matt medium.
Pour Clear Glitter over the shapes and gently press into the surface to make sure the glitter adheres well.
This is how it looks – all sparkly and pretty !
Choose any sentiment you like and heat emboss on a red cardstock. Attach to the front of the Angel.
Adhere the wings to the back of the Angel.
To liven up the background and focus your eye on the shape better, a circle patterned paper was glued behind the Angel. A left-over Star die-cut from another project was aded and finally, a scrunched up medical gauze to the lower end of the tag for some fun texture. You can imagine how this assembled piece can be used for so many makes in the home, it’s so versatile !
Here’s another look at the finished piece :
This Angel is fairly quick to make and in the run up to Christmas with a long to-do list, fast crafting is a real help without taking away the “handmade from the heart” feel.
May your week continue to be good, cheers !
